Breakfast at the Hôtel Littéraire Gustave Flaubert is THE moment to enjoy during your stay in Rouen!

Served as a buffet, you will enjoy our assortment of breads and pastries, homemade sweet and savoury cakes, coffee, selections of "Kusmi Tea" teas, local fruit juices, jams, yoghurts from the Ferme des Peupliers, seasonal fruits, dried fruits, cold cuts, assortment of Norman cheeses, but also lactose-free and gluten-free products...

The library

The works of the author are available in pocket editions for all of the visitors and in many languages (English, German, Russian, Estonian, …).

A unique collection of original editions 

Exposed in the entrance of the hotel, they are a precious collection, from the most well-known titles to the rarest. 

The library also contains first editions of some re-editions, many of which are beautifully illustrated, as well as studies by leading specialists.

GUSTAVE'S AFTERNOON TEA

A quick snack at lunchtime, teatime with friends or an evening rendez-vous at aperitif time ...  We invite you to join us on the ground floor at any time of day.  

Enjoy "Gustave's teatime" at the bar between 10.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on request. 

A hot drink or soft drink accompanied by a slice of home-made cake (7€). 

Sit comfortably by Gustave Flaubert's desk or in Emma Bovary's boudoir and devour some books from the library while enjoying our homemade pastries.

Open to non-residents.
 

Shop

Visit our tempting shop corner, featuring a selection of books on the subject of Gustave Flaubert and Normandy, new publications from the Éditions des Falaises, delicious local delicacies, such as our breakfast jams and artisan fruit juices, including bissap (eucalyptus flower) juice;  cider, apple sugars and caramels from Rouen;  Flaubert-themed watercolour postcards, reproductions of the watercolours in the hotel rooms by Jean Aubertin, audio CDs from Editions Thélème, and other local and cultural specialities.
